In the past few weeks I have discovered the true meaning of friendship in several different ways. Have you ever asked yourself what is the true meaning of friendship?
I suppose it is different for each person and different for each friendship. But one thing I know for certain, is that a true friend never leaves you in times of good or bad.
A true friend laughs at your jokes even though they are truly bad.
A true friend tells you that you are beautiful even on your frumpy or bad hair days.
A true friend will come to your rescue in the middle of the night, always just a phone call away.
A true friend is always there, even when you have hurt them, and have no right to ask them to be.
A true friend tells you they love you even when you are acting spoiled and impossible.
A true friend is one that you can share your deepest secrets and fears with and know that trust will never be broken.
It is my hope that we all have at least one person we call our true friend. If you don’t, become one. So, how do you define true friendship? Please let me know, I would love to hear your answers.

I’ve been thinking a lot about friendship for the past several months. For me, a true friend is someone who doesn’t judge you even though your beliefs and interests may be different from the norm.
Javacia, that is a very important quality in a true friend. Someone who can take us a “face value”.
A true friend is someone who cares as much about my family as well as me. It makes me sad when a good friend of mine who doesn’t have kids, never asks how my child is doing. It could be bc she doesnt have kids but my lil one is a huge part of my life and she should care enough to ask how she is doing. I’m starting to reevaluate our relationship.
It is interesting how events such as having children, getting married and divorce affects our friendships. People say that when things like that happen you find out who your true friends are. I have to say it is true, having been through all three of these events in my life. I am sorry you are having to do that with your friend. I hope things turn out the way you want them to.
